The two main characters are captivating and provide us with an amazing love story that takes your breath away! This book, book the first of four tells us the love story of Edward the Vampire and Bella the human. It is so wonderfully written and captures the essence of teenage angst and true love! Start reading and you will never put it down!

Maybe the book is better, but the movie, in my opinion isn’t that successful. From what I’ve heard, teenage boys don’t like it so much, because they are more interested in action and mystery, whereas teenage girls go crazy about this movie, since it’s very romantic. So it depdends on each of us.

Is Twilight simply entertainment or great literature? I think that’s a question we should be asking ourselves first and foremost. The author, Stephanie Meyer herself says that she writes with no message other than entertainment, so how does one explain the book’s popularity? Looking for an answer to this, I came across an interesting site called Shmoop, which has a fun, smart analysis of Twilight. I thought it had some novel opinions on why Twilight has become the phenomenon that it has and what to look for when reading this book to answer the question for yourself.
